ELEVEN SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE GRUESOME KILLING OF AHMED LAWAN (AKA) SOJE
………AS POLICE LAUNCHES MANHUNT FOR THE FLEEING SUSPECTS.

On 2nd October 2025, at about 0825hrs, a case of culpable homicide was reported at D’ Divisional Police Headquarters by a good Samaritan revealed that two individuals went to the residence of Ahmad Lawan male aged 29yrs AKA Soje, of Sabon Kasuwa, an alleged renowned Sara-suka member, knocked his door, and upon his response, they stabbed him in the chest region and fled to an unknown location.

Upon receiving the report, operatives attached to D’ Division led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Mubarak Sani Baba, swiftly mobilised to the scene and evacuated the victim to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, where he was unfortunately confirmed dead by a medical doctor. The corpse was thereafter released to the family for burial according to the Islamic rites.

Preliminary investigation discovered the involvement of Abubakar Ibrahim (AKA Duduwa) and Abubakar Mohammed as the prime suspects.

Subsequent to the burial, a group of angry youths launched a reprisal attack by setting fire to the family’s house of one of the suspects.

However, a combined team of operatives from the Rapid Response Squads (RRS), Operation Restore Peace (ORP) and the D’ Division responded promptly to mitigate and prevent further escalations.

More so, one of the suspects (Abubakar Ibrahim AKA Duduwa) initially fled to an unknown destination, and later in the day, he was sighted roaming about at Mararraban Liman-Katagum and apprehended by quasi-security members. While transporting the suspect to the police station, they were intercepted by irate youths at Kwanar Kwaila, where the suspect was attacked with cutlasses. As a result, he sustained fractures to both hands and a deep cut on his head.

Upon receiving the distress call, Police operatives quickly mobilised to the scene and dispersed the hostile crowd, promptly rescued the suspect and thereafter evacuated him to ATBUTH Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile, eleven (11) suspects were arrested in connection with the crime:

  1. Abdulwahab Adamu ‘m’ 25yrs, behind Nitel Quarters, Gombe Road, Bauchi
  2. Nuruddeen Idris ‘m’ 21yrs, Jahun area Bauchi
  3. Kabiru Saidu ‘m’ 25yrs, Kasuwan Dorowa, Jahun area Bauchi.
  4. Ibrahim Hamza ‘m’ 22yrs, Kasuwan Dorowa, Jahun area of Bauchi.
  5. Abdullahi Isah ‘m’ 21yrs, Abuja House area of Bauchi
  6. Abdulrasheed Garba ‘m’ 25yrs, Nasarawa, Jahun area of Bauchi.
  7. Abdulwahab Abubakar ‘m’ 25yrs, of Jaja area Bauchi.
  8. Kabiru Muhammad ‘m’ 27yrs, Wayan Makafi area Bauchi.
  9. Musa Abdullahi ‘m’ 24yrs, of Wayan Makafi area Bauchi.
  10. Umar Muhammad ‘m’ 25yrs, of Wayan Makafi area Bauchi.
  11. Umar Ali ‘m’ 27yrs, of Unguwan Kur Area, Bauchi.

They are all undergoing thorough investigation to determine their level of involvement. Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing accomplices.

Finally, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, psc (+), mni warns parents, Guardians, and leaders wielding various degrees of influence that they are enjoined to prevail on their wards and proteges against being used as cannon-fodder in disrupting the relative peace enjoyed in the State.

The Command will not dawdle to decisively deal with any person(s) or group(s) who deliberately cause the breakdown of law and order in whatever manner. Those in violation will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law, as the Command has deployed tactical teams strategically and directed them to ensure full enforcement.
