Unlocking Bauchi’s Mineral Wealth: Governor Bala Mohammed Welcomes Shandong Minsheng Group

Bauchi State took another bold step toward economic transformation this week as Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed received the leadership of China’s Shandong Minsheng Group at the Government House, Bauchi. The visit came shortly after the groundbreaking ceremony of the BMCC Nigeria Limited mining project in Baraza, Dass Local Government Area a landmark initiative that promises to reshape the state’s industrial landscape. 

BMCC Nigeria Limited is a joint venture between the Bauchi State Government and Shandong Minsheng Group, designed to harness Bauchi’s rich mineral resources and create new opportunities for growth. At the launch, Governor Bala Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering global partnerships that drive development, stimulate industrial growth, and generate sustainable jobs for the people of Bauchi. 

During the courtesy visit, Mr. Yu Tao, Chairman of Shandong Minsheng Group, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged the company’s dedication to building a long-term economic relationship with Bauchi. He emphasized that the mining project is not just about minerals — it is about strengthening bilateral ties between Nigeria and China, attracting further investments, and accelerating economic progress across the state. 

The Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Muhammad Maiwada Bello, also underscored the strategic importance of BMCC. He described the venture as a milestone in Bauchi’s journey toward harnessing its mineral wealth through sustainable and globally competitive practices. 

Governor Bala Mohammed assured the delegation that Bauchi remains a secure and investor-friendly environment, guided by policies that promote transparency, community engagement, and environmental protection. He pledged continuous government support to ensure the long-term success of BMCC and other collaborative projects that will shape Bauchi’s future. 

This partnership signals a new era for Bauchi — one where international collaboration meets local ambition, and where the state’s natural wealth is transformed into tangible prosperity for its citizens.
