Masjidur-Rahmah: A Beacon of Faith in Jos

By Abdulwahab Muhammad
On Friday, December 19th, 2025, the city of Jos witnessed the grand inauguration of Masjidur-Rahmah, a newly built mosque by Distinguished Senator Shehu Buba Umar. This remarkable project is more than just a physical structure—it is a sanctuary of worship, a center of learning, and a symbol of unity for the community.
Building a mosque is among the noblest acts in Islam. It is said in the Hadith: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” With Masjidur-Rahmah, Senator Shehu Buba Umar has left behind a legacy that will continue to benefit generations long after today.
The mosque stands as a testament to the enduring values of generosity, devotion, and service to humanity. It will serve as a place where hearts are humbled in prayer, where knowledge is shared, and where bonds of brotherhood are strengthened.
May Allah accept this noble deed, reward Distinguished Senator Shehu Buba Umar abundantly, and grant him a home in Al-Jannatul Firdaus. May Masjidur-Rahmah remain a source of light, guidance, and mercy for the people of Jos and beyond. End.
