Royal Honour in Gombe as Son of Late Wakilin Doka Is Turbaned

A royal turbaning ceremony has been scheduled in Gombe to honour the legacy of the late Wakilin Doka, Alhaji Umaru Gombe, with the conferment of a traditional title on his son, Alhaji Faruk Muazu Gombe.
The ceremony, organised by the family of the late Wakilin Doka, will be conducted by the Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Abdulkadir Shehu Buba, CFR, as part of efforts to sustain the family’s longstanding contributions to traditional leadership and community service.
According to the official announcement, the turbaning ceremony is slated for Saturday, 25th January, at the residence of the late Alhaji Umaru Gombe, located behind his house in Gombe. The event is scheduled to commence at 10:00am.
The occasion is expected to draw traditional rulers, title holders, government officials, religious leaders, journalists, and well-wishers from within and beyond Gombe State, who will gather to witness the historic event and pay tribute to the late Wakilin Doka.
Family sources described the ceremony as a moment of continuity and remembrance, noting that it symbolises the preservation of tradition, honour, and service embodied by the late title holder.
Members of the public have been invited to attend and share in the significance of the event.
