Inuwa Yahaya Urges Muslims to Seek Divine Intervention for Nigeria’s Peace and Stability This Ramadan

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has called on the Muslim Ummah and all citizens to intensify prayers for Nigeria, peaceful coexistence, and national renewal as the holy month of Ramadan begins.In a goodwill message to mark the commencement of the Ramadan fast, Governor Yahaya urged citizens to embrace collective responsibility in confronting the nation’s challenges and building a more stable and prosperous future.He emphasised that Ramadan provides a unique opportunity for spiritual rejuvenation, reflection, and renewed devotion through prayers and acts of worship.“Ramadan, as one of the five pillars of Islam, offers the Ummah a golden opportunity for spiritual rejuvenation, deep reflection and increased devotion through supplication and other acts of worship.”The Governor urged Muslims to use the sacred period to pray for peace, unity, security, and stability across Nigeria, while also remembering leaders in their prayers as the country works to overcome challenges such as banditry and other forms of criminality.Expressing optimism, Governor Yahaya said sincere prayers, patriotism, and renewed commitment would enable Nigeria to overcome its current difficulties and emerge stronger and more united.He also urged Islamic clerics to promote messages of tolerance, unity, and peaceful coexistence during Tafsir sessions, cautioning against divisive sermons capable of threatening peace and harmony.In the spirit of Ramadan, the Governor appealed to well-meaning individuals to support the less privileged, stressing compassion, generosity, and kindness as core values of the season.Governor Yahaya further called on Muslims to reflect the true ideals of Islam—peace, humility, discipline, and obedience to lawful authority—in their daily lives, while encouraging residents of Gombe State to remain law-abiding and united in safeguarding the state’s reputation as the “Jewel in the Savannah.”reaffirming his administration’s commitment to development, he assured citizens of continued efforts to provide basic amenities, ensure equitable distribution of infrastructure, and expand access to social services across all communities.He concluded by wishing the Muslim Ummah a peaceful, spiritually fulfilling, and rewarding Ramadan, praying for Allah’s guidance, mercy, and blessings upon both the state and the nation.
