The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, in a strong show of unity and confidence in the party’s national leadership.The endorsement came on Tuesday during the party’s state congress, where new executives were elected to pilot the affairs of the APC in Gombe for the next four years.The motion backing President Tinubu was moved by the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, and seconded by Hon. Abdullahi El-Rasheed, member representing Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency. Delegates overwhelmingly adopted the motion through a voice vote.“We Are Proud of Your Leadership” – Gov. InuwaSpeaking at the congress, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya described the endorsement as a demonstration of appreciation for what he called courageous and purposeful leadership at a challenging time in Nigeria’s history.According to him, leadership requires vision, courage and commitment — qualities he said President Tinubu has demonstrated since assuming office.“We are proud of what the Federal Government is doing under Mr. President’s leadership. At no time did we request support to deliver services to our people without receiving cooperation. We can confidently say we have purposeful leadership,” the governor stated.Governor Inuwa also reaffirmed Gombe’s status as a stronghold of the APC, revealing that the state recorded over 400,000 registered members during the recent e-registration and membership revalidation exercise — ranking 10th nationwide.He attributed the impressive figure to growing public confidence in the APC-led administrations at both state and federal levels.Unity, Consensus and a Hitch-Free ExerciseChairman of the Gombe State APC Congress Committee, Dr. Danjuma Adamu Dabo, disclosed that the state adopted a consensus arrangement for the election of new executives. He confirmed that all consensus candidates were screened and cleared by the national screening committee without objections.The governor commended the national leadership of the party, particularly APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, for strengthening internal democracy and cohesion across party structures nationwide.At the end of the exercise, Mr. Mohammed Dantata Ndus emerged as the newly elected APC State Chairman. In his acceptance speech, he described the congress as historic and pledged to build on the foundation laid by the outgoing leadership.He assured members that the new executive would work as a team to deepen unity and mobilize the party toward victory at all levels in 2027.The outgoing chairman, Mr. Nitte Amangal, thanked Governor Inuwa Yahaya, party stakeholders and members for their support throughout his tenure, pledging continued loyalty and commitment to the APC.The congress drew a large turnout of party faithful, including the Deputy Governor, members of the National and State Assemblies, commissioners, local government chairmen, and other key stakeholders.With the endorsement of President Tinubu and the emergence of new state executives, the APC in Gombe appears to be consolidating its structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
