BAUCHI, Nigeria — Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has announced the sponsorship of 356 Christians for the 2025 pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to religious inclusivity and citizen welfare.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau, made the announcement during a farewell ceremony at the Government House, Bauchi. He emphasized that pilgrimage is a spiritual exercise designed to strengthen faith, seek forgiveness, and deepen communion with God.

Governor Mohammed assured that the state government has made adequate provisions for security, transportation, feeding, accommodation, and medical services to ensure a seamless experience for the pilgrims. He cautioned officials accompanying the delegation to prioritize welfare and safety, warning that negligence would not be tolerated.

“The spiritual content of the pilgrimage is not to be diluted with worldly pleasure and over indulgences. It is a journey to commune with God and to see Biblical relics which will help pilgrims affirm their faith,” the Governor stated.

He further urged pilgrims to respect the laws of host countries, act as good ambassadors of Bauchi State and Nigeria, and steer clear of conflict zones in the Middle East, particularly amid tensions between Israel and Palestine.

The Executive Secretary of the State Christians Welfare Board and the State CAN Chairman applauded the Governor’s gesture, describing it as a significant investment in the spiritual well-being of Christians. They encouraged beneficiaries to reciprocate by praying for the Governor, his administration, Bauchi State, and Nigeria at large.  The sponsorship underscores Bauchi State’s effort to promote religious harmony, inclusivity, and citizen welfare, positioning faith as a vital pillar of governance
