In a significant step toward economic recovery and grassroots development, Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has commissioned the newly rebuilt Kantoma Market Complex in Billiri Local Government Area—transforming what was once a site of loss into a symbol of renewal and opportunity. The modern facility, now a striking multi-storey commercial hub, rises from the ashes of the old Kantoma Market that was previously destroyed. Beyond reconstruction, the project represents a deliberate investment in people, livelihoods, and the economic future of the community. In a heartfelt tribute, the market has been named after the late Mai Tangle, Dr. Abdu Buba Maisheru II, honoring his enduring contributions to peace, unity, and development in the Tangle Chiefdom. The naming adds cultural and historical significance to the project, linking economic progress with respect for tradition and leadership. The Governor’s arrival in Billiri was nothing short of electrifying.
