Zamfara State Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal Visits Bauchi, Condoles Government and Family of Late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi
The Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal, on Monday paid a heartfelt condolence visit to Bauchi State following the passing of globally respected Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
Dr. Lawal, who arrived at the Bauchi Airport in the early hours of the morning, was received by senior government officials before proceeding to the Government House for engagements with His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Dauda Lawal said it was essential for him to personally commiserate with the government and people of Bauchi State, despite having earlier dispatched a high-level delegation while he was away in Morocco for an official assignment.
He described the passing of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi as “a monumental loss to the immediate family, the people of Bauchi State, Nigeria, and the entire Muslim Ummah across the world.”
The Governor further praised the late scholar’s lifelong dedication to the propagation of Islamic knowledge, praying to Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
Visit to the Family House
Dr. Dauda Lawal also visited the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Mosque and the family residence, where he met the eldest son of the deceased, Sheikh Ibrahim Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
The family expressed deep appreciation to the Zamfara State Governor for his presence and compassion, offering prayers for Allah’s blessings upon him.
Engagement at Government House
At the Government House, Governor Bala Mohammed warmly welcomed Governor Dauda Lawal, describing his visit as a profound gesture of friendship, solidarity, and leadership.
He commended the Zamfara State Governor’s strong record of governance and service delivery, noting that the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi served as a spiritual bridge between Bauchi and Zamfara States through his teachings, scholarship, and unifying influence.
Governor Bala Mohammed added that the visit symbolized empathy, unity, and brotherhood, values deeply cherished by the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
He prayed for Allah to reward Governor Dauda Lawal abundantly for standing with the government and people of Bauchi State at their moment of grief.
