The Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Malam Dalhat Hamid Bello, General Manager of Albishir Radio, who died in Bauchi after a brief illness. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the Governor described Bello’s death as a “great loss to Bauchi State, particularly to the media and broadcasting sector.” Malam Dalhat Hamid Bello was a seasoned broadcast journalist and administrator who rose through the ranks with diligence and professionalism. He previously served as Acting Managing Director of Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC), where he played a pivotal role in strengthening the organization. He was widely respected for his dedication to public service, ethical journalism, and his commitment to promoting Islamic values through the media. Bello was also a key figure in organizing the annual Qur’anic Recitation Competitions and in producing Islamic radio programmes that enriched the spiritual and social lives of Bauchi residents and beyond. Governor Mohammed extended heartfelt condolences to Bello’s family, colleagues at Albishir Radio and BRC, members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and the wider Bauchi media community. He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives Bello’s shortcomings, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives his loved ones the strength to bear the loss. End
