The people of Kafin Duguri in Alkaleri Local Government Area are still reeling from last Friday’s tragic bandit attack that claimed four lives. In a show of solidarity and leadership, Governor Bala Mohammed led a high-powered delegation to the community, offering condolences and firm assurances of justice and enhanced security.According to eyewitness accounts, armed bandits stormed Kafin Duguri in large numbers, riding on nearly 100 motorcycles. The attackers unleashed terror on innocent residents, but the community bravely resisted, repelling the assault despite the heavy odds. Sadly, four lives were lost in the defense of their home.Governor’s Message of SupportSpeaking to the grieving residents, Governor Bala Mohammed expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He revealed that he had briefed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja immediately after the attack. The President, he said, extended his condolences and pledged the Federal Government’s full support in strengthening security across Bauchi State.The Governor reassured the people that his administration is working closely with the Commissioner of Police, the DSS, and the military to reinforce security presence in vulnerable communities. He vowed that those responsible for the attack will be brought to justice.Earlier in the visit, the Emir of Duguri, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad, thanked Governor Mohammed for his prompt response and solidarity. He commended the Governor’s sustained efforts to enhance security and protect communities across the state.Governor Mohammed was accompanied by top security and government officials, including the Commissioner of Police, the DSS Director, and the Brigade Commander of the 33 Artillery. Together, they prayed for the souls of the deceased and urged the community to remain united, vigilant, and cooperative with security agencies.The Governor’s visit was more than symbolic—it was a clear message that Bauchi State will not bow to fear.
