Governor Bala Mohammed visits Duguri Emirate after deadly attack, pledges justice, stronger grassroots security, and closer collaboration with communities to dismantle criminal networks.In the wake of recent bandit attacks in Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has embarked on an on-the-spot assessment tour of affected communities, sending a strong message of his administration’s zero tolerance for criminality.The Governor began his visit at the palace of the Emir of Duguri, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed Duguri, where he held a closed-door meeting to evaluate the security situation. He expressed solidarity with the Emirate and assured the traditional institution of government’s unwavering support in safeguarding lives and property.The delegation proceeded to Kafin Duguri, one of the communities recently targeted by heavily armed assailants. Reports indicate that the attackers stormed the area on over one hundred motorcycles, leaving four people dead and several others injured. Governor Mohammed condemned the incident as “unacceptable” and a direct affront to peace and stability in Bauchi State.The Governor emphasized that sustainable security requires collective responsibility. He urged residents to work closely with security agencies by providing credible intelligence to help dismantle criminal networks. Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Omolorin, reinforced this call, appealing for vigilance and cooperation across communities.The Emir of Duguri praised the Governor’s swift response and moral support, noting that such gestures boost confidence among affected communities. He also lauded the resilience and unity displayed by the people of Kafin Duguri in resisting the attackers.Governor Mohammed announced plans to recruit more local indigenes into vigilante groups and community-based security outfits. He stressed that strengthening grassroots participation is vital to protecting lives, property, and ensuring socio-economic stability across the state.The visit concluded with renewed assurances from the Bauchi State Government that decisive measures are being implemented to prevent future attacks and restore lasting peace in Alkaleri and beyond.
