Gombe State has been thrown into mourning following the passing of a respected public servant, Alhaji Shehu Adams Sokoto, a former Special Adviser, who died in the early hours of Sunday, April 19, 2026.Late Alhaji Shehu Adams Sokoto, a native of Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area, was widely regarded as a man of humility, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service. Throughout his years in government, he played a significant role in supporting policy implementation and grassroots engagement, earning the respect of colleagues, community leaders, and the people he served.In a condolence message, Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, described the late Sokoto as a loyal and dependable aide whose contributions to governance and community development would not be forgotten.“The death of Alhaji Shehu Adams Sokoto is a painful loss, not only to his immediate family and Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area, but to Gombe State as a whole. He was a committed public servant who discharged his duties with diligence, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility. We will greatly miss his wise counsel and dedication to service.”The governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.His death marks the end of a life devoted to service, integrity, and community development.
