
Deputy Governor Jatau urges peace as state donates materials to affected families in Sansan and Garin Babbaji

The Bauchi State Government has distributed relief materials to victims of recent communal clashes in Sansan and Garin Babbaji villages of Zaki Local Government Area, in a move aimed at easing hardship and restoring normalcy in the affected communities.The items were presented on behalf of the state government by the Deputy Governor, Mohammad Auwal Jatau, during a humanitarian outreach to the communities.Speaking at the distribution ceremony, Jatau called on residents to remain law-abiding and uphold peaceful coexistence, stressing that unity and mutual understanding are critical to preventing future conflicts.He explained that the donation formed part of the government’s immediate response to alleviate the suffering of families affected by the clashes and to support their recovery.The Deputy Governor also conveyed the sympathy of the state government to victims and assured them of continued efforts to foster dialogue, peace, and stability across communities in Bauchi State.The relief exercise was coordinated by the Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), whose Director General, Masud Aliyu, commended the intervention, noting that the items would significantly cushion the impact of the crisis on affected households.In his remarks, the Chairman of Zaki Local Government Area expressed concern over the incident and assured residents that the council would intensify efforts to prevent a recurrence of violence in the area.Other officials present included the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Amina Katagum, and the Special Adviser on Political Matters, Shitu Zaki.The intervention reflects the Bauchi State Government’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian support, peacebuilding, and community stability following security incidents across rural areas.
