SSA on Communication to the Governor of Bauchi State

The Executive Governor of Bala Mohammed, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on the second day of Eid-el-Fitr celebrations received the traditional Eid Durbar homage at the Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu Square, in a colourful display of cultural heritage and royal tradition.

The durbar procession, led by the Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, featured district heads and horse riders adorned in elaborate traditional regalia, symbolizing loyalty to the emirate and respect for constituted authority.

A Spectacle of Tradition and Royal Homage

The annual Eid durbar remains one of the most significant cultural events in northern Nigeria, combining centuries-old traditions with modern governance. This year’s event attracted dignitaries, government officials, and residents who gathered at the Government House to witness the royal homage and ceremonial horse procession.

The riders, moving in synchronized formations, showcased the rich heritage of the Bauchi Emirate, reinforcing the historical ties between traditional leadership and contemporary state administration.

Governor Calls for Sustained Peace and Lawful Conduct

Addressing the durbar delegation, Governor Bala Mohammed congratulated Muslims in Bauchi State and across Nigeria on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

He urged residents to remain law-abiding and continue to support the government’s efforts to maintain peace and stability.

“Peace and unity remain the foundation of sustainable development. I call on all citizens to continue supporting initiatives that promote harmony and collective progress in our state,” the governor said.

The governor also expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to witness another Eid celebration in good health and in a peaceful atmosphere.

Emir Commends Government’s Development Efforts

Speaking on behalf of the traditional council, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, appreciated the warm reception accorded to the durbar contingent and commended the state government’s ongoing development projects.

He noted that infrastructural expansion and social interventions across Bauchi State had positively impacted communities and strengthened public confidence in governance.

“The administration’s commitment to development is visible across the state, and the traditional institution will continue to support policies that promote peace and prosperity,” the emir stated.

The event once again underscored the enduring partnership between the Bauchi State Government and the traditional institution, a relationship widely regarded as crucial to maintaining grassroots peace and community cohesion. The colourful ceremony concluded amid cheers and cultural displays, leaving residents with renewed appreciation for their heritage and a shared sense of unity that defines Eid celebrations in Bauchi State
