A coalition of support groups aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appealed to the party’s national leadership to uphold the results of the recently conducted Bauchi State congress, warning against attempts to overturn the outcome.Addressing journalists during a press conference in Bauchi on Monday, the coalition’s Advisory Board Chairman, Barrister Jibrin S. Jibrin, and Secretary, Comrade Ibrahim Mohammed, expressed concern over what they described as efforts by some party stakeholders to subvert the will of party members.Coalition Insists Congress Reflected Grassroots WillThe group specifically cited the emergence of Alhaji Mustapha Zirami as State Secretary and Hon. Yakubu Muhammed as Organising Secretary, insisting that the congress was conducted in line with party guidelines and reflected the wishes of the grassroots.According to the coalition, more than 70 APC‑aligned groups across the state participated in the process and remain united in their support for the outcome of the exercise.Certified Results Presented to PressThe coalition presented what it described as a certified true copy of the congress results, noting that the exercise was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and other observers.“We are constrained to draw the attention of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the leader of our great party, to intervene and ensure that the will of our party members and leaders prevails,” the coalition stated.Warning Over Potential Political Fallout Ahead of 2027The group warned that any attempt to alter or nullify the congress outcome could undermine internal democracy within the party and weaken its political strength in Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 general elections. They stressed that the congress was conducted in full compliance with the APC constitution and the relevant provisions of the Electoral Act, urging the national leadership to proceed with the inauguration of the newly elected State Executive Committee without delay.Growing Tension Within Bauchi APCThe development adds to growing tensions within the Bauchi chapter of the APC, where multiple factions have laid claim to legitimacy following the party’s congresses conducted as part of preparations for its upcoming national convention.Political observers say the manner in which the party’s national leadership handles the dispute could shape the APC’s cohesion and electoral prospects in Bauchi State in the lead‑up to the next election cycle.APC Coalition Petitions Tinubu Over Bauchi Congress, Demands Respect for Members’ Mandate
