The First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, has received a humanitarian service award from the Al-Basar International Foundation and Christian Blind Mission (CBM) in recognition of her support for vulnerable people through the Al-Muhibba Foundation.
The award was presented by a delegation from the two organisations during a visit to the Government House in Bauchi.
The delegation’s Regional Manager, Bello Abdullahi Yuguda, said the recognition acknowledged the First Lady’s commitment to supporting less privileged people and her partnership with the organisations in providing free eye-care services.
As part of the collaboration, the delegation allocated 600 free cataract surgery slots to the Al-Muhibba Foundation to help people in need access treatment.
Receiving the award, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed expressed appreciation for the recognition and the support. She described the partnership as an important step towards improving healthcare access for vulnerable residents.
The collaboration between the Al-Muhibba Foundation, Al-Basar International Foundation and CBM is expected to expand access to free eye treatment and other humanitarian services across Bauchi State.
