Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, on Saturday participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives direct primaries at his Jekadafari Ward in Gombe Local Government Area, applauding the peaceful and transparent conduct of the exercise across the state.The governor described the primaries as orderly, credible, and reflective of the growing democratic culture within the APC in Gombe State.Speaking shortly after casting his vote, Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed satisfaction with the impressive turnout of party faithful and commended the election management committee, security agencies, and party stakeholders for ensuring a smooth and hitch-free process.“We are one big family, and there is no victor, no vanquished. They are all APC members, and I urge everyone to close ranks and work together for the success of our great party in the forthcoming general elections,” the governor stated.He stressed the need for unity and collective commitment in sustaining the developmental achievements recorded under the APC-led administration in Gombe State.“We will continue to work together to meet the aspirations of our people and consolidate on the progress we have made as a government,” he added.Governor Inuwa Yahaya also praised party members for demonstrating political maturity and embracing democratic values peacefully throughout the exercise.“I am delighted that our people have embraced democracy and are practicing it peacefully and responsibly,” he said.Also speaking, the representative of the APC National Headquarters and Chairman of the National Primary Election Committee for Gombe State, Alhaji Labiru Musa Kafur, lauded the Gombe APC under Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s leadership for strengthening internal democracy and ensuring a transparent electoral process.“We are highly impressed with the peaceful conduct and transparency of the primaries,” he remarked.The exercise was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) alongside independent observers.In the contest for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency seat, the aspirants, Hon. Sadam Bello and Alhaji Zakariyya Jidda, were represented by their agents. Following the ward-level headcount, the presiding officer, Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Makeri, declared Hon. Sadam Bello winner in Jekadafari Ward.Similar peaceful outcomes were recorded across several wards in the state, reinforcing confidence in the credibility of the exercise.
