Party Presents Flags to Chairmanship, Councillorship Candidates, Says Momentum Will Carry Into 2027

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Bauchi State has formally flagged off its campaign in Bauchi Local Government Area, declaring itself battle-ready for the August 17, 2026 local government elections and positioning the exercise as a major test of its grassroots strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The colourful campaign ceremony, held on Wednesday at Babasidi Primary School in Bauchi metropolis, attracted party leaders, candidates, supporters and stakeholders from across Bauchi LGA.
A major highlight of the event was the formal presentation of the party’s flag to its Bauchi LGA chairmanship candidate, Umar Aliyu, Wakilin Tsaftan Bauchi, alongside APM councillorship candidates.
Presenting the flags, the APM Bauchi State Chairman, Alhaji Auwal Isa (Mai Takalmin Roba), declared that the party was fully prepared for the August 17 council polls and the political contests ahead in 2027.
He urged voters across Bauchi State to rally behind APM candidates, describing them as credible and reliable individuals capable of providing effective leadership at the grassroots.
The Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule, described the large turnout at the campaign as a demonstration of the growing strength and grassroots acceptance of the APM in Bauchi State.
Also addressing the gathering, the Executive Chairman of Bauchi Local Government, Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar, alongside other party leaders, called on residents to vote massively for Umar Aliyu and all APM councillorship candidates in the forthcoming election.
The speakers commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Kauran Daular Usmaniyya, for what they described as his administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment and delivering development projects across the state.
Babamaji expressed confidence that APM would emerge victorious in the August 17 local government election and sustain the momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the candidates, Umar Aliyu thanked the party leadership and supporters for the confidence reposed in them and pledged that, if elected, they would work diligently to improve the welfare of the people and strengthen grassroots development.
The Commissioner for Higher Education, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Kango, also delivered a goodwill message, expressing confidence in the party’s preparedness for the Bauchi Local Government election.
The campaign flag-off was coordinated by the Bauchi LGA Chairman of APM, Alhaji Dalladi Dan Baba, Mazawajen Bauchi, with several other party stakeholders delivering goodwill messages and mobilising supporters ahead of the polls.
