Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has declared an uncompromising offensive against criminal elements operating within the state, directing security agencies to intensify coordinated operations aimed at dismantling criminal hideouts and safeguarding lives and property.

The Governor issued the directive during a meeting of the Bauchi State Security Council, where he charged security agencies to sustain the momentum of recent successful operations in Alkaleri, Ningi, Ganjuwa, Toro and other affected local government areas through enhanced intelligence gathering, intensified patrols and joint ground operations.

Governor Bala Mohammed stressed that criminal groups must be denied every opportunity to regroup, directing security agencies to strengthen surveillance across border communities, dismantle forest camps and intensify operations against kidnappers, bandits and other violent criminals threatening public safety.

He also issued a stern warning to traditional rulers, cautioning them against harbouring criminals, allocating land to suspicious persons or aiding any illegal activity. The Governor emphasized that anyone found complicit would face the full weight of the law.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to security, Governor Mohammed pledged continued support for security agencies through improved logistics, deployment of technology, expansion of military formations and the establishment of additional police stations across strategic locations in the state.

He further called for stronger collaboration between security agencies, local communities and traditional institutions, describing community partnership as a critical pillar in the fight against insecurity.

Looking ahead to the forthcoming political season, the Governor urged all security agencies to remain professional, vigilant and impartial in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities by providing adequate security for all citizens, political parties and electoral activities while ensuring the continued maintenance of peace, law and public order across Bauchi State.
