Bauchi State has taken a significant step towards attracting foreign investment and expanding international partnerships following the signing of two landmark Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Saudi Arabia’s Golden Contractors Group.
The agreements, signed at the Government House in Bauchi, are expected to deepen economic cooperation between Bauchi State and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia while opening new opportunities for investment, job creation and sustainable development.
The Memoranda of Understanding were signed on behalf of the Bauchi State Government by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, and the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Hassan El-Yakub. They were executed alongside the Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Golden Contractors Group, Mr. Muhammad Faisal Al-Harbi, in the presence of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
Speaking after the ceremony, the Secretary to the State Government explained that the first agreement provides a framework for the annual provision of Hajj services to Bauchi State, with the objective of improving service delivery and strengthening institutional capacity for pilgrims.
He added that the second agreement establishes a strategic partnership covering agriculture, mining, infrastructure, tourism and hospitality—key sectors identified by the state government as having enormous economic potential.
According to the SSG, the agreements followed several days of extensive engagements between Governor Bala Mohammed and the Saudi delegation, including visits to various locations across Bauchi State to assess investment opportunities and development prospects.
He expressed confidence that the partnership would attract foreign direct investment, stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities and accelerate sustainable development across the state.
Officials described the signing of the MoUs as the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship between Bauchi State and Golden Contractors Group, as well as a major milestone in strengthening economic ties between Bauchi State and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
