Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has formally forwarded the names of twenty-three nominees to the Gombe State House of Assembly for confirmation as Honourable Commissioners and members of the State Executive Council.

The request was contained in a letter dated June 29, 2026, addressed to the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, in accordance with Section 192 (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

Governor Inuwa Yahaya requested the approval of the Assembly to appoint the nominees, who he said were carefully selected based on their experience, competence and capacity to contribute meaningfully to policy formulation, implementation and the effective administration of the state.

The nominees forwarded for consideration are:

The Governor noted that the nominees were selected to provide effective policy direction and contribute towards the consolidation of the administration’s development agenda.

He expressed confidence in the State Assembly’s consideration of the request and conveyed his assurances of highest regard to the Honourable House.

The Gombe State House of Assembly is expected to commence the screening and confirmation process in the coming days, after which successful nominees will be sworn in and assigned portfolios to support the government’s next phase of governance and development programmes.
