Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has fulfilled his pledge to support the family of the late Kabiru Ahmed Ilelah with a donation of ₦5 million.
The financial assistance was shared equally between the deceased’s two wives, with each receiving ₦2.5 million.
Kabiru Ahmed Ilelah died several months ago in a road accident along Duguri Road while on official duty.
The donation was presented on behalf of the Governor by a delegation led by the Bauchi State Commissioner for Information, Usman Usman Shehu, alongside the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado.
Other members of the delegation included the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council, Malam Isa Gadau; the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Communication, Abdulwahab Muhammad; the Director of Information, Suleiman Alhassan Dambam; and Abdulhamid Abdullahi of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
The gesture fulfils Governor Mohammed’s earlier commitment to assist the bereaved family following Ilelah’s tragic death.
The intervention is expected to ease the financial burden on the deceased’s widows and underscores the Governor’s commitment to supporting families of those who lose their lives in the course of public service.
