Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has secured a major investment partnership with Bayer following a high-level meeting with the company’s delegation at the Bauchi Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.The delegation, led by Philipp-Andreas Schmidt, visited the Governor to discuss strategic collaboration in agriculture, agro-allied value chains and healthcare development in partnership with Tiamin Rice and the Bauchi State Government.The engagement is expected to attract substantial investments targeted at accelerating the state’s agricultural transformation agenda and strengthening economic growth.During the meeting, the delegation revealed plans to commence a major agricultural project next week in Toro Local Government Area. The initiative is designed to boost maize and rice production on a large scale, positioning Bauchi State as a strategic agricultural hub for both domestic and international markets.The project is also expected to improve food security, create employment opportunities and expose local farmers to modern agricultural technologies and global best practices.In a symbolic highlight of the visit, the delegation presented Governor Bala Mohammed with a jersey from Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the German Bundesliga side owned by Bayer.Governor Bala Mohammed received the delegation alongside the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Iliyasu Aliyu Gital, and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Hassan El-Yakub.The Governor expressed appreciation to the delegation and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building productive partnerships capable of delivering sustainable development and improving the wellbeing of the people of Bauchi State.
