The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has been inaugurated as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti State.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya was inaugurated alongside several APC governors, federal lawmakers and senior party leaders during a ceremony held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre. The event brought together prominent figures within the ruling party as preparations intensify for the crucial election.

Among those present were the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, and the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

The inauguration was presided over by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

Addressing members of the Campaign Council, Professor Yilwatda expressed appreciation for their willingness to serve and voiced confidence in their experience, dedication and political capacity to deliver victory for the APC in the Ekiti governorship poll.

He noted that the composition of the council reflects the party’s commitment to unity, inclusiveness and collective responsibility, stressing the importance of a coordinated, grassroots-driven and issue-based campaign capable of strengthening public confidence in the APC and effectively communicating the achievements of its administrations.

Speaking on behalf of the council, Governor Uba Sani, who serves as Chairman of the Campaign Council, assured the party leadership of members’ readiness to work tirelessly toward securing victory at the polls. He pledged that the council would pursue a vigorous grassroots engagement strategy while highlighting the achievements of APC governments across the country.

Also speaking, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who serves as Co-Chairman of the Campaign Council, described the Ekiti governorship election as a significant test of the party’s strength and democratic credentials. He expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious, citing the party’s internal cohesion and the performance of the administration of Biodun Oyebanji.

The inauguration ceremony attracted APC governors, members of the National Working Committee, federal legislators, ministers and other senior stakeholders of the party, underscoring the strategic importance attached to the forthcoming Ekiti governorship election.
