SSA Communication to the Governor of Bauchi State
BAUCHI, October 1, 2026 — As Nigeria celebrates 66 years of independence, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, fnipr, has called on Nigerians to rise above ethnic, religious, political and sectional differences and embrace unity, peace and collective responsibility in building a stronger nation.
In his goodwill message commemorating Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, Governor Mohammed congratulated the people of Bauchi State and Nigerians at home and abroad, describing the occasion as a moment for reflection on the nation’s journey, the sacrifices of past generations and the responsibilities citizens share in shaping its future.
The Governor acknowledged the economic and social pressures confronting Nigerian families, particularly the rising cost of living, but urged citizens not to allow current difficulties to extinguish their hope and confidence in the country.
He said the challenges facing the nation demand greater solidarity, patience, hard work and collective effort, stressing that national unity and the common good should remain paramount.
Governor Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Bauchi citizens through investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply, economic empowerment, urban and rural development, institutional reforms, digital transformation, as well as youth and women empowerment.
He emphasised that meaningful development cannot flourish without peace and security, calling on traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, civil society organisations, youths, women and other stakeholders to strengthen peace-building and constructive engagement across communities.
The Governor reminded Nigerians that nation-building is not the responsibility of government alone, saying every citizen has a role to play through hard work, honesty, discipline, justice, accountability, tolerance, mutual respect and patriotism.
In a reflective message as his administration approaches its final phase, Governor Mohammed expressed gratitude to the people of Bauchi State for their support, prayers, goodwill and constructive criticism throughout his tenure.
He described the 66th Independence Anniversary as particularly significant because it is the final Independence Day he will commemorate with the people of Bauchi State in his present capacity as Governor.
“Public office is a sacred trust. It is temporary, and no individual holds it forever. What endures are the institutions we strengthen, the opportunities we create, the lives we touch and the foundations we lay for those who come after us,” the Governor said.
Governor Mohammed urged the people to continue praying for the peace, unity, stability and development of Bauchi State and Nigeria, while congratulating the nation on 66 years of independence.
He prayed for Almighty Allah’s continued blessings upon Bauchi State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
