The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved the contract engagement of three Assistant Coaches, the conversion of two officers, and the promotion of 24 officers across various cadres in the state civil service.

 

The approvals were among key decisions reached during the Commission’s 21st plenary session held on June 16, 2026, at its conference hall in Bauchi.

 

According to the Commission, the engagement of the three Assistant Coaches followed a waiver granted by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, and was subsequently formalized by the Commission.

 

The newly engaged coaches are Mohammed Umar (Arrow), Meshack Abah and Ogah Unegbe, all of whom were appointed as Assistant Coaches on a two-year contract basis with effect from May 1, 2026.

 

The Commission also approved the absorption of Hajara Yusuf, a contract staff of the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), into the mainstream state civil service as a Higher Executive Officer following the approval of a waiver.

 

In addition, the Commission promoted 24 officers to higher grade levels across different professional cadres. Beneficiaries of the exercise included Principal Technical Officers I and II, Principal Building Officers I, Principal Forestry Officers I, Principal Works Superintendents I and II, Principal Estate Officers II, Principal Technical Officers in Accounts and Agriculture, as well as Principal Environmental Management Officers II on Grade Levels 12 and 10 respectively.

 

Other officers promoted were Senior Executive Officers (Accounts), Senior Technical Officers (Building), Senior Forestry Superintendents and Senior Environmental Management Officers, among others, on Grade Levels 9, 8 and 7 respectively.

 

The Commission further approved the conversion of two officers. One officer was converted from Chief Executive Officer (General Duties), Grade Level 14, to Chief Administrative Officer on the same grade level, while another officer was converted from Senior Forestry Guard on Grade Level 5 to Environmental Management Officer on Grade Level 8.

 

Congratulating the successful officers, the Commission urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by redoubling their efforts and maintaining high standards of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

 

Speaking during the plenary session, Permanent Commissioner I, Alhaji Abdullahi Babayo, Danmadamin Jalam, who presided over the meeting on behalf of the Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, mni, stressed the importance of strict adherence to public service rules and regulations.

 

He noted that compliance with established guidelines, circulars and professional ethics remains essential for the effective management of government institutions and the delivery of quality service to the people.
