The Yakubu Dogara-led Reconciliation Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has refunded nomination form fees to unsuccessful aspirants in a major move to heal divisions, rebuild trust and strengthen party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The refund exercise took place during a high-level meeting held on Wednesday in Abuja, bringing together key party leaders, candidates and stakeholders to address grievances arising from the party’s primary elections.
The initiative is aimed at resolving internal disagreements and encouraging unsuccessful aspirants to remain committed to the party’s collective interests.
Among those present were the Bauchi APC governorship candidate, former Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN), and his running mate, Hon. Farouk Mustapha.
Also in attendance were the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Hassan Tilde; State Secretary, Alhaji Aminu Aminu Mohammed Naiya; Bauchi State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, Dr. Ja’afar Ibrahim Dass; members of the National Assembly; and other prominent party stakeholders.
The refund of nomination fees forms part of the Dogara-led committee’s broader reconciliation efforts to ease political tensions, restore confidence among party members and prevent divisions following the primary elections.
The move is expected to encourage dialogue and cooperation among competing interests within the party as preparations intensify for the 2027 polls.
With internal unity considered crucial to electoral success, the committee’s latest intervention signals the Bauchi APC’s determination to resolve differences and strengthen its political structure ahead of the general elections.
